The Parish of Bodle Street Green was established in 1855 but the old Church built around that time was largely destroyed by fire in 1921..The new Church was consecrated in 1923 and this building, slightly smaller than the old one, incorporates part of the original chancel.

Throughout the year, the organist and a part"time organist (both volunteers) provide music at all Services supported by a small but dedicated choir. Refreshments are served at the rear of Church after all 9.30 a.m. services. Special services are a particular feature of the worship at St. Johns’ and attract larger than usual congregations especially families. The special services include services for New Year’s Day, Mothering Sunday, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Rogation Day, Pets Service, Harvest, Remembrance, Christingle and a Candlelit Carol Service on Christmas Eve.

We are a friendly and welcoming Bible believing parish church. 

Our main Sunday service is almost always at 11am. All are welcome. The first Sunday of the month is normally an All Age Family Service. On other Sundays there is a Children's Sunday Club during part of the service time. There are DIY creche facilities in the vestry.
